New Art Pages

I have been so productive with my art journal, I think because I’m really excited to be using my new materials! This one looks quite dark, I think because I used so many things on the page, including grunge paste which I scrapped into, then dylusions sprays, acrylic paint, pen, and grunge paper I die cut into the flowers, butterflies and hearts. I am still quite happy the way it came out as I think it is quite interesting and gave me the opportunity to play with my art and enjoy the process much more.

I love the colours of this page (which I scanned in) and I used the grunge paste more sparingly with a stencil to get a different effect. I also made my second video of me making this which you can watch here:

I’d love to hear what you think!

An Altered Mother’s Day Box

I found this box in the supermarket on Friday and thought, for £8 I could make it really nice. Here is what I made for my Mum. There was a space to add a photo so I picked one of our cat Scully who died last year.

Paper Collage

When  I moved to Manchester last year, I had hardly any money and was working in a pretty shit temporary job while I sorted myself out. My TV had broken and then my computer failed. A few days later my phone was cut off! So I had no technology at all and was pretty annoyed. Rather than being bored, I turned on my radio and started making this collage using different textured papers, paint, ink, and embellishments.

I liked being able to try something new and see how I could bring my ideas to life with these materials. It was also a useful distraction from the frustrating things happening at the time. I’d like to try making a new one, although probably on a smaller scale. If only there were more time in the day!
