β€˜The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.’ – Pablo Picasso

Cherryblossom Tears is my little corner in which to daydream about art and nature. My blog is about art and my projects, which include sculpting and resin pieces, embroidery, art journaling, painting, sewing, and altered arts.

I began my blog in 2012 as a way of cataloguing my work. Five years later and it has become a reflection of my creative life; a dairy, tutorials and commentary on art in modern life such as city graffiti, galleries, museums and contemporary artists and art movements.

For me, art is about the process. I like to experiment with materials, ideas and styles. I am a tactile person who loves pattern, colour and nature. I also love to challenge myself; to try new things, even if it is a failure to start with! No one became good at something without trying. Making things gives me a sense of purpose and fulfilment and inspiring others brings me hope.

  1. i started reading Cherry Blossom Tears this morning before work, and now it’s 9:30pm and i should be getting work done, but i just keep getting sucked in to these wonderful blogs! (-: thank you for following my blog. we are kindred spirits (except i can’t sew to save my life!)

    1. Wow, thank you, that is one the nicest things someone has said to me πŸ™‚ Your blog is lovely, I do indeed think we are kindred spirits πŸ™‚ I love cats too but can’t have any yet 😦 one day x

  2. Helllo, I thought I’d pop over to see what you’re up to. I see it’s quite a lot really. What a fabulous education you’ve gotten under you belt. I spotted your Printer tray. I loved all the trinkets you found to include in the piece. I did one for a friend last Christmas, no wheres that size though. I think finding the bric-a-brac to include is the most fun. Big thank you for following Boomdeeadda, I can’t wait to snoop around. πŸ™‚

  3. Lovely blog, I would love to read more, but I find the purple text on the textured background very difficult to read. Hope you don’t mind me saying this.

      1. I think it is more the texture as it has light and dark areas. It will be hard to find any colour that will be easy to read. I see you have changed it to single colour now. Thanks! πŸ™‚

      2. Yeah, I have been playing around with the colours to see if anything works! I love the back grounds but they just don’t seem to work. But feel free to give any comments πŸ™‚

  4. I love your blog! Found you via Tumblr and had to follow you right away. Definitely will be delving into it more soon πŸ™‚

  5. I have a GCSE art student who is inspired by your work, she will be creating an artist based based on your work, could you tell us your name please.
