Fizzling Creatures!

sculpture

Hello Friends!

I’ve been pretty busy recently and haven’t felt much motivation to blog really – it is the Summer Graduations at work and I’m doing overtime as well so my drive to make things is dwindling…. But I wanted to put an update on the creatures I have made over the last few weeks which I have decided to call Fizzlings! Sounds cute to me!

I made the purple and pink one for my sister as a request and she asked for him to be holding/eating a lolipop. I think that one is my favourite so far! Each one I’ve made is different and I can clearly see how much better I get, fine tuning details and working on my weak areas.

My sea creature monster, Eric, was a challenge as I wanted to create an upward tail with a mermaid-like fin. I love how he turned out although I was frustrated while I was making him and used loads of clay to get his head right! I used plastic eyes as well and they reacted very strangely with the polymer clay. They started to liquefy! I was scared of baking him but I kept an eye on him while he was in the oven and he turned out fine.

My new creature is going to be a combination of pale colours and new glass eyes I bought from Etsy. Will update as soon as he is finished! And I made this cute baby evil plant for my friend. Enjoy!

      1. I guess I don’t have the confidence to see myself as a particular artist in a certain medium although I’d like to see where the sculpture goes 🙂

      2. Dabbling is good I think. I switch between different media and styles because it stops me getting stuck in a rut and keeps me enthusiastic and inspired. I suspect you are the same way.
